Casa dos Cubos

An accordion fold book that fully opened is around 5 metres wide, about an architecture project by the Portuguese atelier Embaixada. Two distinct narratives: one side of the accordion presents a photographic essay of the built project, developed by Daniel Malhão; The opposite side collects architectural drawings, writings and small pictures from the project conception to its construction. Every page was designed with Embaixada, as two simultaneous pianists. The challenge was to respect the space for each of the elements and the relations among each other. Either the text reacts with the images or to the space between the photographic essay, allowing for the introduction of each other, as a prelude or entrance to the next moment.
